Matt Schwarz symphony debut and Odin's Other Eye gig!

The opening and closing movements of Matt Schwarz's new symphony will be premiered by the Castle Rock orchestra during their March 9 "American Composers" concert! While Matt's two previous orchestral works were arrangements of his own progressive-metal songs, the symphony was composed as classical music - although Matt incorporates a gypsy violin melody (from his days with Sarabande) into the opening movement and there's a bit of Iron Maiden harmony-guitar influence in the finale. It's gonna rock, so be there and you can be quoted in the documentary on "Great Symphonies of the 21st Century" when they make it. More immediately, the Castle Rock Orchestra's Christmas concert (with Matt on harp and last violin) will be December 15th. A great way to get in the holiday mood with some Christmas classics. If the horse-hoof clops in "Sleigh Ride" don't get you smiling, then you are probably the illegitimate child of the Grinch. Both CRO concerts at the First United Methodist Church of Castle Rock, 1200 South Street, Castle Rock, CO, Sunday at 3 PM. It will be a Winter Solstice Masquerade party. www.odinsothereye.com
