From the recording Farewell To Wilderness

One of the great metal songs of the early SH days. Dan always liked nature and the outdoors - these lyrics could be seen as his (less apocalyptical) version of Matt's "Armageddon" lyrics! Like "Out of The Mist" Dan came up with the lyrics (with the help of band friend Pat "The Queen Wizard" Kennedy) and Mole provided the title. Joe's piano run over the chorus is fantastic. Mole originally played a solo after the organ solo, but Joe's synth solo (over Junior's acoustic) fits better. The brilliant guitarist Mike "BBB" Allen joins us on bass and backing vocals. We were hoping to work with him more, but he died suddenly and at much to young an age!

Mole - vocals, electric guitar
Joe - backing vocals, piano, organ, synth
Mike Allen - bass & backing growls
Tom Catsuosco - acoustic guitar
Gary - drums

FAREWELL TO WILDERNESS - 4:29

Mountain and forest filled with peace
This sanctuary I once knew
In this place Bird-song will cease
For builder's dreams and highways through.

Chorus:
Earth bleeds
To feed
Your need
For greed

Why lakes must die and trees must fall
I don't understand I'll never know
More fast food another mall
So that their bank accounts can grow.

Chorus:
Earth bleeds
To feed
Your need
For greed
