The Legend of King Mole & Bop the lowly Peasant boy. - May 22, 2010

Ok, boys and girls, here is a story from the medieval times. Once upon a time in a land of great distance, from an age long long ago. There lived this great and powerful king. King Mole. He had great wealth and was feared by many, especially ones who had large storages of nurishing provisions. He had a lowly peasant boy by the name of Bop. Now, King Mole lived in a great castle far atop these high mountains. King Mole would stretch out his hand and strike judgement on the poor peasant boy. He would throw his riches down from the high mountain into the hands of poor Bop. Bop, who feared this great and powerful king, would take his riches and run errunds that he was commanded by this king to accomplish.
Bop, had his first mission. He met up with court jester. This jester went by the name Recordin' fool. They were in charge of the King's minstrels. King Mole would strike vengence upon these lonesome 2 if they did not present the minstrels in the fashon that King Mole saw fit. They worked and sweated dillagently. Poor Bop would take a trip through the hills to meet with Recordin' Fool once a week to obtain the objective for King Mole. Even a few times his mighty stead was struck down. Eventually, they came out from the hills with the King's minstrels. The Minstrels would now play the way the Mighty King saw fit. The King was very pleased.
Now, King Mole had another adventure. He would send the lowly peasant boy out the this great city in a vast expansion. Bop, was now in charge of producing the King's scrolls. Now, these scrolls were written in a language foreign to Bop. So there was great confusion. The Mighty King saught holiday in a sunny land to the far west. So, he took his fair maiden and retreated from the mountains to this sunny land. Whilest, poor Bop was left in the dirty streets of the great city, left to do the evil king's bidding. Now, this king did not leave poor Bop on his own. He sent one of his Soldier's with him. Now, this was no ordinary Soldier. He was the greatest in all the kings army. He was well equipted and held great knowledge of strange lands. They ventured to the west side of this great city. They met with a man that would help document these important scrolls. He went by the name Sir John of Jesus. Now, Sir John, brought the tired and broken down peasant boy along with this mighty Soldier into his abode and fed them and gave them solice. He knew of this King's viscious hand. They spent a morn, day, night, then morn again on these mysterious scrolls. When, they were finished, the might King Mole was not pleased. He held great anger towards the peasant boy Bop. Now, Bop, was prepared for his adventure into the great city. He would take the kings scrolls and the kings minstrels to the great city.
In the end, many rejoiced, they all cheered the King's music, and the King's stories, which were both of great mystery.
The Mighty King Mole was not pleased, for he never is. He lowered his hand which held great power and saught death upon the lowely peasant boy Bop.
But, the peasant boy had found great favor in many. For this peasant boy brought love and joy with him, and an occasional pizza. Bop and Soldier would find a small area of the wood to hide from this kings anger.
Eventually time would pass. The king finally saw whaat great wealth, power and fame was brought to his kingdom through the hard work of Fool, Soldier, Sir Juan, Sir Scott and most of all Bop. The Mighty King Mole raised his hand once more towards poor Bop, but wait! This time in was not out of anger! It was to commemorate his hard work and fortitude. For now, the lowely peasant boy was knighted! King Mole pronounced, from this day forth you shall be known as Sir Bop of Fortitude. The people rejoiced in the land of Sleepy Hollow. The End

Sleepy Hollow remembers Ronnie James Dio - May 18, 2010

The band have been huge fans of Dio for centuries. From his Rainbow & Sabbath days to his incredible solo career. Joe Dell, "Ronnie was always on his A game. In the studio and live. You will never find a bootleg where he had an off night. Every singer should be as professional as he was. God rest his soul. I know I was trying for his style when recording 'Seedy Sale' even though I sound nothing like him. He had a good thick sound to his voice. His high notes never sounded weak. Rainbow Rising gave life to the heavy metal we know today. You will find his influence in so much rock and metal. Give 'Gates of Babylon' a listen. I feel that was his greatest vocal performance ever." Just for a reference, the Dio DVD Evil or Devine. If you look in the crowd shots, you can spot Joe Dell, Soldier and the top of Mole's head now and then. They were at the show for the filming in New York.

Soldier, being the biggest Man-o-war fan in the country has come to know Ken closely. Soldier has his fair share of fantastic art pieces from Ken. I feel that "Legend", which comprises 20 songs, is our best work to date. Engineered by Bob Both (James Brown) and with art work by Ken Kelly (Rainbow, Kiss, Manowar) it will put us over the top of our contemporaries and prove that we have a well deserved spot in the Rock n Roll History books!"

Disc 2 mixed down, Joe Dell breaks down, triple B lost tapes found! - April 7, 2010

Joe Dell & Bob Both mix down 8 tracks for Disc 2 of Legend. Yesterday was a day of accomplishment. Joe Dell completed his vocals for the track Un-self-concious. Joe,"Bob was a big help, as always. I was unhappy with the 3rd verse; Bob helped me through it. Un-self-concious has what I feel to be my most meaningful lyrics to date, so I don't want to turn the listener off with bad vocals." They also mixed down 8 more tracks. leaving Aristotle's Lantern and Ursula's Nightmare for next week. The 'Hall of Voices' track is still in production. Unfortunately for Joe, his car broke down in front of Twain studios, and had to be towed. Joe,"Well, still got me health!" laughing. "we always had the curse of Sleepy Hollow over our heads. Since the incarnation of the band back in 1999, we always had bad luck, so to say, if you believe in that sorta nonsense. I leave everything in God's hands. I like to think that we are doing good, that is why the devil likes to pop his mischievious head in and try to send things afowl." On another note. Soldier has dug up old Spectrum Green tapes. He found the legendary Triple B audition tape! He has been hard at work compiling old rehearsals, jams and such for bonus material for the re-release of Goin' Over. The band wants to have some goodies in store for disc 2 bonus material. They have a track titled 'Taciturnity Blues" in the can and waiting for the re-release. Due to the recent passing of Mike "Triple B" Allen, they would like to tribute him by adding some material at the end of disc 2 in his memory. His contributions to Armageddon and Farewell to Wilderness will be heard and appreciated on Legend. He is deeply missed.

Mole appearance at Starfest 2010 Sci-Fi convention - March 31, 2010

No, Mole has NOT been brought in to represent Chewbacca, but is performing with the Castle Rock Orchestra at the Starfest event in Denver. Friday, April 16. The orchestra concert is 9-10 PM and will feature a variety of science fiction movie and television theme music - some of which (let's face it, the good ones) even have a harp part for the mole to play. Nothin' says "Darth Vader's here to kick your ass" like the mole going "briiinggggg" on the harp, eh?

Dig it!

an e-mail from a new fan.... - March 13, 2010

Hi Joe!

Consider me amongst the masses of
Sleepy Hollow converts! I haven't gone thru all of the CD's. I always try to give new music at least a few plays.

Accomplished musicianship, creative lyrics and dialogue. I literally haven't been able to remove it my CD player!

Many Thanks,
Cousin Frank

This is an example of how Sleepy Hollow are continually reaching many in the underground. Mainstream music DOES NOT effect people like this. Sleepy Hollow is filet mignon, where commercial music of the new millenium is Mc Donalds......

We have most of the artwork and are only awaiting tracks for the 'Hall of Voices' and flute tracks for 'Too Late'. I am also psyched about the collaboration with NOOSE.
